After driving friends and family crazy by shopping, comparing and weighing one against another, I am bypassing retail stores and just ordered a couch from Wayfair, a website that appears to have all the right credentials. I couldn’t help myself. This quirky couch was half the price of everything I saw in person, the maker—Serta—is established and they sweetened the deal by paying for the shipping. Further, I ordered “concierge” service: the driver brings the couch to my apartment and sets it up. This could all be a moot point if it doesn’t fit into the elevator. Again.
