Rhetorical Question: Does Anyone Check Spelling These Days?

I take no pride in it, but I was standing in another line when God handed out spelling skills. That stated, I work hard to spot my spelling errors, using multiple dictionaries to make corrections. I’m not sure who was in charge recently when editors signed off on this Yahoo landing page headline: “Aubrey Hepburn’s Granddaughter Gives Fashion Tips.” Surely somebody noticed the letter swap. I forgive people wired to misspell–that’s just the way our brains work–but when people being paid to notice mistakes let them slip, it’s unforgiveable. Aubrey and Audrey might be spinning in their graves.
