After three return trips to the DMV, I had my fill of the snarky, power-abusing bureaucratic employees who moved at a snail’s pace, but perhaps their attitudes had nothing to do with a sense of entitlement: According to the News-Gazette, the building is now closed because air quality tests show extreme levels of carbon monoxide. The DMV claims the building is too small for the volume of people packing the place. No joke. I was one of them: Handed card #1, I sat down as the clerk called #49. Collective fuming? You bet. Next time, I’m wearing a gas mask.
